It's certainly different from the simple tropical gardens that were once the backdrop to these dolphin pools, but the area has an overall nice, bright vibe to it.

Some of the pooling of water is seen here. With the wet season nearing an end in south-east Queensland the work should be able to progress with few distractions until opening.

So, the story goes that a category 5 cyclone has just blown through a port and we are in the calm eye of the storm. We've gotta make our way to the coastguard evacuation boats before the other side of the storm hits.

The rumoured second launch has appeared, running parallel to the station track. On the other side you can see the transfer track sliders are in place, and preparations are there for footings for the track itself.

The ride's trailer almost fits under the "this-isn't-a-carny-ride" vinyl wrap.

Some footers at the back end of the site. This is right near an animal pool, so one would imagine the pool would be moved, or sound screened. The circular footers and pentagonal bolt arrangement suggests the ride will use Intamins conventional support system, rather than the unique style seen on Mick Doohans Motocoaster.

Unlike steel roller coasters which are built entirely from prefabricated components, traditional wooden roller coasters are built on-site from raw wood, which makes the process complicated in some ways, but easier in other ways.

Real shipping containers – presumably cheaper and easier to obtain than building fake ones – are scattered and stacked across the site.

Supports for a steeply banked U turn. In the background you can see the unique L shaped 'split' brake run the ride has. The space limitations of the site have most likley forced them to push the brakes into the corner as they have done.

Part of the 270 degree turn that follows the first launch. Interestingly it runs in a depression in the ground. A comparison could almost be drawn with Furius Baco, another Intamin launch coaster known for fast, low to the ground turns.

The coaster is a clone of Skatteøen at Djurs Sommerland in Denmark. A 28m high lift hill leads the boats into a dipping u turn, before a large sweeping 360 degree drop and rise. Finally, a straight drop and airtime hump leads boats to the indoor splashdown.
